In times when the world feels divided, I believe music holds the power to bring us together. When my grandfather passed away, I found comfort in making music. Through reconnecting with my roots, I did not only find myself, but also a part of him.

 

He was a fighter for freedom and equality, someone who could bring people together, even when they came from very different worlds. I try to carry that spirit forward in my music.

 

I make music inspired by Brazilian genres like Bossa Nova, blended with elements of jazz. I write my songs in both English and Portuguese. Music helps me come closer to myself. It’s a place where I calm down. It allows me to connect with my own feelings, with others, and with something greater than myself.

I hope my music can offer the same for others. That it brings people together, especially now when we need it more than ever.
